Bolibompa themed birthday /Green and gold theme

Recently I organized a birthday party for my son who turned two. The theme was based on a Swedish character Bolibompa (dinosaur) but strangely enough the party supplies for this theme aren't available in market!
So I decided to use green and gold/yellow to make it look bit themed. Decorations like pompoms, banner, golden circles and accordian fans are from Amazon.com and cake is home baked.
Cake is eggless and flavored with vanilla and pineapple. For filling between the layers, I have used whipped cream and pineapple cake filling. Frosting is done with buttercream and whipped cream icing, decorated with fondant balls and topped with edible print of a drawing made by my daughter.

Organizing your wardrobe!

I came across this technique somewhere while surfing internet and I was so excited to try this myself because most of the time I try to organize the stuff in my wardrobe, it will be mess within two days. And also after some time when I again try to organize ,I'll find some clothes which seems to be new to me because I never found them in that mess.

But this proved to be the best method so far.Just need to fold clothes in small and equal size and you are ready to go.

Two major advantages by stacking the whole stuff horizontally- you can see all the clothes instantly, secondly when you pull upper drawer, clothes below it will not fall down.

What a relief! :)

DIY projects

Crafts ,Crafts and only Crafts!! this word is in my mind from whole day..I'll be looking in to different websites and blogs for ideas. After seeing so many sites I can say one thing that anyone can be talented in any field if he has internet connection and zeal to surf for hours. My god there are so many ideas that if you start implementing all of them then your house will turn to a trash in no time :D. Because the ideas are so tempting and easy to do that you will feel like doing all and that too immediately!!
Recently I saw a new database Pinterest where one can actually PIN whatever he likes on internet. I really mean whatever!! any image, any blog post and on any topic be it food, articles, crafts, tattoos, tips and what not. The list will go on.....I am telling you internet world is way too big than real one.. and these ideas will leave you asking yourself ..Why didn't I think of that!

I found so many ideas with this website just in one day for crafts and now I am too excited to start one of it soon as Nia now goes to day care and I have ample of time.
I will keep updating this post for new experiments and findings..keep watching!!

Arvind Gupta Toys from trash

Today I got to know about this website http://www.arvindguptatoys.com/ from TED.com.
I must say his efforts are mindblowing ,who doesn't want to play with such cheap but most importantly self made scientific toys.
we were being taught so many things in science but half of them were really boring especially inorganic chemistry with equations, hard to remember!!
I mean, No body actually knew that time -where and how this is going to be used?so we'd just studied that and passed our exams. But if we would have being taught like this.. giving live examples n experiments ..then may be who knows -things would have been different.
I still remember a fun magic which my uncle shown to me when we went to Agra at his place during summer holidays.I cannot forget how he made water level to rise in a glass which was kept upside down with a blown off candle inside it.
That day I learned- a burning candle needs oxygen.:)
But no issues as at least now I can get creative seeing these experiments and can amuse my child and let her give shape to her imagination with the help of theory and so called practicals. Then she will definitely love her studies..Hope fully!!

Am I a house plant serial killer!!!! No way!!

From the first day I came to Sweden I am trying to figure out how people raise a plant indoor and that too in pots only. Because for me it has been a real job...yeah .. I forgot the actual count how many flower plants I have killed   :( ...its not that I have not watered them on time.. I watered them daily .. well yeah ..twice a day!!! I used to do this in India too but there plants were so humble n modest. :-P

But Finally now I have few beautifully raised plants .. off course they are flowering every year! and yes I am not watering them daily  :-)..Not sure who has adapted whom?? :D

But I am not a plant killer for sure ..Hence proved!!! :)

Any kind of tips for raising plants are always welcomed!
